2 Weeks old today

The 3 grandaughters Megan (9), Kaymie (2 weeks), Brooklyn (6.5 months)

I took Kaymie to her well check today and she gained one whole pound in a week and a half!!! She now weighs 7 lbs 12 oz, at this rate she will catch up quickly to her cousin Brooklyn:)

Thanks to my Sisters

who watched all the kids so JEff and I could go on a hot date! It was so nice to be just the two of us and have together time. We went and saw FIREPROOF

and absolutely loved it! IT was such a good movie and it was nice to go to a clean movie and come away feeling closer to Christ!! We enjoyed a little baskin robbins treat afterward (of course I had to use a coupon LOL). My heath cone was fantastically delicious!!
Thanks again Sisters and thanks babe for a fun date!

Pictures

Kaymie Alauna Shumway

Little update- We sat down for dinner at 5pm Monday night, when I decided that the contractions started to hurt. Got to the hospital at 6:30 -dilated to a 6, 75% effaced. Feeling lots of pressure, had them check me again (while still in trioge m/s) and was dilated to an 8. Got to my room and was waiting for the epidural as he was an OR. Then feeling the need to push (but still had my water intact) I asked for meds realizing then I wasn't getting the epidural- and they said it was too late. IT was so hard trying not to push- it is practically impossible!! Finally through my not pushing my water broke and baby was coming. The Dr walked in and I started pushing! She was born at 7:40 weighing 6 lbs 15 oz, 19 3/4 inches long and I must add she is so beautiful. I now know what it is like to have an all natural labor! This is the first time I haven't had to have an episotomy. I am feeling really blessed that she is healthy and I don't have high blood pressure. My platelets went back up (94 before delivery) to 113 the next morning. She is so cute and so fun to have here! Recovery is going great so far, but we are looking forward to mom getting here this afternoon. It was fun to see Stacie and Kam and have them meet Kaymie. We still aren't sure on her hair color- time will tell. Jeff says it is brown. Now for the sleep catch up- is there such a thing???

We really have a pet

and no it's not a lizard or cricket LOL
Can you believe it, we really have a pet... I can't believe it- I'm having a baby what in the nation are we getting a pet for???
So the boys came home from the neighbors and asked if they could have chocolate- I told them no they were grounded from sugar. No chocolate the guinea pig they said. I told them we would talk to daddy about it. The rest of the day that's all they talked about. Jeff and I decided they could, since they have been begging for a pet forEVER and hey this one would be free:) Jeff talked to our neighbor friend and then told the boys that maybe we could get it Sat. Yesterday in walks the boys carrying the cage, food, and shavings!!! Now all I hear is oh chocolate needs more water, mom can I feed him an apple, etc... They are absolutely thrilled with this new pet. I told Jeff it is all his and the boys and the cage better get cleaned often! We haven't gotten it out to hold it yet- am I a mean mom or what- I said daddy has to help you! Heck I'm having a baby, I don't want to deal with another thing. I would post a picture of the cute little guy (although we don't know if it is a boy or girl and either did the owner LOL) but the camera is packed in my hospital bag :)

We're ready for her to come!

We just can't wait for our little baby girl to arrive. I am so excited and ready! What is your guess of when she will make her appearance, how big she will be, and what color her hair will be? (I am due Wed Oct 15th)
